Arrival at Triglav National Park

Your journey begins in a relaxed manner with your individual arrival in Stara Fužina on Lake Bohinj. The emerald-green heart of Triglav National Park will be your base camp for the entire week. The great advantage: you can enjoy the tranquility of the Julian Alps in your apartment without constantly having to pack your suitcase; we'll only take our backpacks with us overnight for our spectacular mountain hut stay.

At 5:00 PM, the entire crew meets at the accommodation. Together with your local guide, you'll take a first stroll to the lakeshore before ending the day with a relaxed welcome dinner. The perfect moment to get to know the community and prepare for the upcoming summit moments.

Panoramic hike: Viševnik

Your basecamp: Authentic accommodation in Triglav National Park

During the hiking week you will stay in comfortable accommodations. Apartments, which offer you the perfect mix of traditional charm and modern comfort. The location directly in the national park is the ideal starting point to experience the unspoiled nature of Slovenia without long journeys.

The apartments are ideally designed for the crew experience: most units have a separate bedroom (with double or twin beds) as well as an additional sleeping option in the living area. The fully equipped kitchen-living room invites everyone to relax together after the tours and reflect on the day.

The alpine highlight: For one night, we'll trade the comforts of base camp for pure adventure. On your Hut-to-Hut Highlight, you will spend the night at the mountain hut. Here you can enjoy the magical silence of the high Alps and a starry sky like you can only find far away from civilization, an intense nature experience that makes this trip so special.

Why are we sharing rooms?

During your crew trip to the Triglav National Park the focus is on the shared experience. You will stay in comfortable apartments in Stara Fužina which you will share exclusively with your fellow travelers. The apartments have two rooms with double beds or single beds and a combined living room and kitchen.

Note regarding the bathroom: Just like in a real mountain shared apartment, you share the bathroom within your living unit with your crew, which creates a relaxed atmosphere and is simply part of the authentic Alpine feeling.

How do the meeting point, arrival and departure work?

Your journey starts and ends directly in the mountain village Stara Fužina at Lake Bohinj. You'll have excellent transport links on site and won't need your own vehicle.

  • Arrival (Day 1): Individual arrival at the accommodation (the name will be provided directly to you by the local agency after booking). The program starts at 5:00 PM including the welcome meeting and dinner.
  • Parking & pick-up service: Ample parking is available. Ljubljana Airport (€60 each way) a date that can be arranged after booking.
  • Departure (Day 7): After the final breakfast, individual journeys home will take place in the morning.
Why are arrival and departure not included?

Travel to and from the starting point is not included in the price to give you maximum flexibility in your planning. You decide on your mode of transport (train, car, or plane) and your schedule. This gives you the freedom to arrive a few days early to acclimatize or to extend your stay after the tour. Our local partners will then meet you directly at the official meeting point to begin your adventure.

What luggage is needed for this trip?

Thanks to your fixed base camp in the apartment, your main luggage stays safely there even during the night in the mountain hut, no checking out, no luggage transfer. You hike carefree each day with just a light daypack. Here are the most important things for your checklist:

  • Hiking boots: Since you will be traveling partly in high alpine terrain, you will need ankle-high hiking boots with a good profile sole (category B or B/C).
  • Daypack: A backpack with a volume of approximately 20-30 liters is perfectly sufficient to store water, food and your camera.
  • Clothing (layering principle): The weather can change quickly. Pack breathable clothing, a rain jacket, and a warmer layer (fleece or insulated jacket), as it can be cool above 2,000m even in summer.
  • Sun protection: The sun at high altitude is intense: sunglasses, sunscreen and headgear are mandatory.
  • Optional: Hiking poles (helpful on steep descents).

Tip:You will automatically receive a detailed equipment list with all the specifics immediately after booking, so that you are perfectly prepared.

How are the groups composed?

Your adventures are centered around the community. To help you find the crew that's the perfect fit, we prioritize maximum transparency:

  • Find the crew that suits you: Our platform shows you trips that have already been booked by people your age and with similar interests. This way, you decide which existing group you want to join.
  • Age group & origin: The groups usually consist of approximately 10 hiking enthusiasts from the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), primarily between 25 and 45 years old. Thanks to the platform's targeted approach, you'll automatically be hiking with like-minded people of your age.
  • Language: The main language within the group is German. Since communication among yourselves is an important part of your trip, understanding and speaking German is a prerequisite for participation in the DACH tours. In some destinations, the specialized local guides speak English, but the group will always diligently help with translation so that you receive all the necessary information.
