What luggage is needed for this trip?

Since you have your fixed base camp in the apartments and set off on your tours each day with just a light daypack, packing is straightforward. Luggage transfer is not necessary. Here's the most important stuff for your checklist:

  • Hiking boots: Since you will be traveling partly in high alpine terrain, you will need ankle-high hiking boots with a good profile sole (category B or B/C).
  • Daypack: A backpack with a volume of approximately 20-30 liters is perfectly sufficient to store water, food and your camera.
  • Clothing (layering principle): The weather can change quickly. Pack breathable clothing, a rain jacket, and a warmer layer (fleece or insulated jacket), as it can be cool above 2,000m even in summer.
  • Sun protection: The sun at high altitude is intense: sunglasses, sunscreen and headgear are mandatory.
  • Optional: Hiking poles (helpful on steep descents) and swimwear for the Völser Weiher lake.

Tip: You will automatically receive a detailed equipment list with all the specifics immediately after booking, so that you are perfectly prepared.

How are the groups composed?

Your adventures are centered around the community. To help you find the crew that's the perfect fit, we prioritize maximum transparency:

  • Find the crew that suits you: Our platform shows you trips that have already been booked by people your age and with similar interests. This way, you decide which existing group you want to join.
  • Age group & origin: The groups usually consist of approximately 10 hiking enthusiasts from the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), primarily between 25 and 39 years old. Thanks to the platform's targeted approach, you'll automatically be hiking with like-minded people of your age.
  • Language: The main language within the group is German. Since communication among yourselves is an important part of your trip, understanding and speaking German is a prerequisite for participation in the DACH tours. In some destinations, the specialized local guides speak English, but the group will always diligently help with translation so that you receive all the necessary information.
